I'm down to quarter size bricks now. This is the last ring with the tool. The clamp was getting in the way so I've had to screw it. They are still going in free hand. They are sticking very well once I get 2 or 3 in and tapped together. Lots of home-brew helps. It seems very grippy. Attachments:

That's better. Inspired by Terry's photo of the plank resting on a pile of breeze blocks I went for the cautious route. I didn't fancy a circus trick so I went for the workmate, a board, some bricks and another board to bring me up to the right height. Attachments:

I like this view though - 40 mins later. Thanks, Faz & Terry for the sponge tips. Topping out very soon. I keep giving it a misting of water from the garden pump sprayer. I can't soak it because the Calsi insulation board might get wet. I'm also smoothing off the home-brew over the rough brick surface so it won't snag & tear the foil I plan on putting over it prior to the insulation going on. Sandwiching the insulation between foil should stop it getting wet should I get any leaks. Giving the home-brew a misting prior to running a pointing trowel over it seems to give good results. Good enough anyway because it won't be seen once the insulation goes on. Attachments:

This is the last one. It took a bit of grinding into shape and then tapped in with lots of home-brew. Attachments:

The bulge on the right is were I've plastered over the thermocouple wire so I don't have to cut a hole in the insulation. Hopefully the wires won't get too hot?If they don't work then so be it & I will have an excuse to buy an infra-red one.
