Looking very good, it's a great feeling to top out the dome. Well done

There's a bit of pointing to do inside front and I want to put a thin layer of home-brew over the rough bolster cut bricks at the back.
Once that's done I will leave it for a while (a day or three) to dry out naturally before some very small curing fires.
Thanks for the help so far.

...I'll have to think about the chimney next. I've got loads of fire bricks left.

very smooth arch there. What is the plans for the rear of the arch where their is a gap, just form another arch over the internal one?
do you have a flue / chimney you plan to attach? I found that part a real head scratcher.

I'm going to check out the gap it a bit. I think some offcuts. The chimney will be in firebrick. Eventually I'm going tosuround it with house bricks (although I'll keep the dome round.) The front should end up something like this one:- ukwoodfiredovenforum.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=bvovens&action=display&thread=425but with another arch instead of a square entrance. So it will mean you won't be able to see much of the current layout.

OH. Oh. That gap does look a bit big. I was wishing the front arch was a brick lower at this point. Attachments:
