Thanks, the figures might look a bit precise because I converted them from degrees F where they started off life as round numbers.

No Pete, the comments were not aimed at you, after all you were only quoting the FB stuff and were more about trying to remove some of the hocus pocus and unnecessary precision that sometimes gets into wfo building and can put people off building their own. I try to act as devil's advocate on the forum questioning things like this as a means to ensuring a common sense approach to helping people build and get the most out of their wfo. ps I must admit I originally started the previous post complaining about the 'precise' 232 figure before realising it was US and checking the Fahrenheit equivalent

I've started some brickwork to go around the chimney. The White pipe is so I can thread cables for lights or the thermocouple displays (or both). Attachments:

The plan for the Temperature sensor. I've taken out the bulb holder from the lamp. It came from QVS electrical. I'll get them to fit in there somehow. ...the glass is clear the flash made it look frosty. Attachments:

Pete
People often ask if it's OK to post multiple posts with pics.......Your thread is a perfect example of sharing a build...I love it.
I'm no expert but I'm experienced and have much knowledge in wood-fired oven building......but I'm also learning some great tips from your build...
Great work Pete...
Terry

Thanks terry. A general view. I think the arch could be half a brick lower ideally? I might get a bit of smoke coming out the entrance? Time will tell. For this brickwork I'm using 5 building sand : 1 cement : 1 lime & a bit of plasticiser. They seem to be going down OK but I cram too much mortar in so they sometimes float around rather than bedding down. The pointing is far too flush with the bricks as well. I'm fairly happy though.
