The bricks at the front are cut for a final arch. Also this shows major amounts of effervescence which I think will go over time. Attachments:

I've screwed the former to the back of the bricks & cut them to shape. The observant will have spotted the Mk 1 pizza paddle still going strong!! (It's now an ash remover.) I nudged the angled brick on the left so had to reset it. Attachments:

p.s....built an entrance arch on a Pompeii on the weekend and removed the arch former immediately.....the bloody lot collapsed!!...shall post pics on my thread soon.

Ha ha Terry, that's what I did with the first one of my arches - after that I left the former in until the next day to let the mortar go off properly.

Underneath the arch looks fairly tidy. (By chance the thumb nail looks nice & tidy too - It's mazing what a bit of microsurgery & 8 months for the nail to grow back can do!) Attachments:
