While I'm still waiting to get the oak to start the base framework for my wfo, I thought that I'd bore you with my latest work project. I've taken this. And I'm turning it into this. One difference from the supplied plan is that I have changed the staircase to a cantilever one. There is also now a second pedestrian door below. I'll start to cut the roof tomorrow, and weather permitting, will begin to pitch it next Monday. It's not a bad job to have. .

Ooh, that looks interesting - not so good in the rain though! And I guess a perk of the job could be the offcuts?

Wow. Somebody has a fair few quid to be able to afford a garage like that.
Top respect on the craftsmanship. Nothing like a bit of real oak framing.
Can you build me a conservatory with the offcuts ? Pretty please?

Some of my clients certainly have some toys. And this was possibly one of my favourite jobs. Not bad for a new build. Ref the conservatory.. Sadly (for you) the off cuts don't get very far away from my fire. ;D .

Wow ! Client = drug dealer ? Thankfully not. Most of my work comes from Bankers. The guy that had the cars used to be in printing, and when the job was finished, he become a very good friend. As for an apprentice, just having someone that could a hammer would be a bonus. This what the snowy, cold, wet frame looked like when it was just about finished.

As far as I know, the oak to build the base framework for my WFO is ready for collection, so hopefully I can finally make a start tomorrow. The downside is that I'm fed up of working, and making the base is going to feel like just another day at work. I have also decided to take a week or so off work in August, my first holiday in five years, so hopefully this time at home might push the stove build forwards. As for work, the scaffold went up today on the current job. A bit of luxury for once, but it would have been nice to have had it up before I started to pitch the roof.

Stunning! Be a shame to cover all that up Eddie! I love all that work around the Dormer windows. Just been trying to teach myself how to use a framing square, i need something like what you've just built to cement the process in my head! Lovely work, amazing! Even the first fix sparky took inspiration from your work!
