I don't think those same tiles will be too heavy, but you may want to use something less conductive for the entrance to keep a bit more heat directly in the hearth......or as I done on my last build, put a piece of fireboard (about 5mm)....or a thin slice of an insulation block up against the hearth bricks.....then lay your pavers, tiles or bricks etc in this area. (I've even used 6mm fire-rope compressed to about 3mm).....in that gap.
If you don't use the above suggestions at least put a mortar joint between hearth bricks and entrance area. Anything to stop the heat dissipating out from your hearth bricks will assist in keeping the heat retention in your hearth.
