Jewson % discount update 02/08/13

I have just had a meeting with the new manager...Mr Marc Horton at the Newport branch of Jewsons where the original account was set-up.

My failure in not having regular meetings with Jewsons have resulted in some confusion.

A while ago Jewsons restructured their list price. They lowered many of the original "list price" prices so some of our % discounts have dissappeared from the system. Due to their new system a general % discount may have to change to a full list of individual items that have the discounted price alongside each item. This is the system used by major contractors who use Jewson on a regular basis.

Our old Jewson discount account looked like this..

-74% off list price for timber and plywood
-50% off....Fire-bricks and fire-clay
-40% off....Building materials
-30% off....tool hire
-10% off....hand tools

For the new set-up I must make a list like the one above with all items on 1 list each with it's own discounted price. A little help from members for the items on that list may help (I'll create a new thread).

While the new discounted account is being thrashed out the old system using the account number WOOP 248 will still work but with varying % rates from our original set-up.

Tried to buy some ballast and OPC for delivery today using the code but it didn't work.

Faz......many apologies. I haven't purposely been dragging my feet to get the Jewson account back up and running after their system renewal earlier this year, but in all honesty I havent been able to pin down a meeting with the manager of Newport to a day that suits us both. I will try to get a meeting with the original person who set up the account with me on Monday the 25th November.......he is now in charge of a larger store, but it's only 12 miles further down the road.

If you, a Moderator or senior member of the forum who is reading this would like to set up the new account on behalf of this forum, then it's not so difficult to arrange.....send me a PM if you can help. .......otherwise I will contact Gareth Owens sometime next week for a meeting (hopefully)

Hi Terry - no need to apologise! I was only posting an update on whether the code still worked and definitely not having a pop at you

I definitely got my monies worth out of that code when I built my oven last year, so I can't complain!!!

Terry, i will have to check the date but I think it was back in October that I used the code in the Newport branch.so was definitely working then.

Just an update on the Jewson account update, which is... there is no update. I just haven't managed to make a date with the Jewson guys which falls in with my free time during the week. It's on my "priority" catch-up list of things I must do. Many of the original discounts will still stand using the WOOP248 account, but much has to be re-organised into their system.

Shall do my best to get this organised within the next few weeks.

FYI Team, just successfully used the Jewson's account number at a branch in London, she said no problem. I did this over the phone without any questions.

Is anyone able to tell me what the discounted price Jewson charge for regular sized firebricks, via this scheme?

Yes a firebrick from Jewson is just short of £5 for 1! With the discount stay clear have a look at kiln linings most in here buy them from this place guy is called Liam very helpful and stocks most things ya need for a oven build
