I have been trying to work on a focaccia recipe using my sourdough starter. It is my first attempt so I thought I would write about it and get some feedback and ideas from everyone. The first think I have got wrong is, not enough olive oil on the top, but this was due to my lack of correct pan. My wife made me promise that no oil would drip on the bottom of the oven. I will have to go out and buy a pan the right depth rather than use a flat baking sheet. I have gone into some detail with lots of photographs on my blog, I wont repeat it all here, but link to it instead. It is in two parts, the second result was much better than the first in terms of taste. All the details are here blog.fireandfocaccia.com/2013/12/working-on-focaccia-recipe.htmland part 2 here blog.fireandfocaccia.com/2013/12/working-on-focaccia-recipe-part-ii.html

I've tried making Foccacia.....I've done it many times. The difficult bit is getting it to look and taste good. I've just about given up after my dismal attempts. I'll have to have a look at your blog and try to find out where I was going wrong.
Love the picture......I bet it taste's as good as it looks!!

Terry,
This is definitely a work in progress still. I thin my photographic skills are being kind do my baking skills at this point, but this is not a bad starting point. I am going to have a few more attempts over the next couple of weeks if I get time, but the oven build may take preference. I've just been digging for clay to make some adobe mortar with to start laying the hearth bricks tonight.
