Hi Guys
So glad I came across this forum, looks great!
I am looking at setting up a mobile pizza van, I am a professional chef and half Italian. I have fond memories of my Grans place in Italy having a pizza oven in her kitchen as that’s what they used to cook there food in, not just pizza.
Basically I have been looking at a H van, Long wheel base as I understand you need plenty of room, weight ect.. but reading on this forum is the H Van the best option, I really like the look of the vans , they speak loads and really would fit in with what I want to do. I just not sure if I could use a different vehicle.
Just looking for some advice, I have spoken to Alan from H van and Jay from Dingley, at present I am living in France (heading back to the uk in the summer time) so I could look this end but time is something I don’t have. I know people have mentioned that the above option could be pricey but it seems the simplest. One stop shop.
I also see that there is a lot of Red tape, but I am guessing there is money to be made if you stick at it and do it right. I guess the question I have could it work in a h van, could I get different equipment in a H van so I am not just doing pizza's.
Any help would be great and look forward to hearing from you
Paolo

There was an H van (known as a Grumpy truck in this house!) with a gas fired oven in it at our Christmas celebrations in town this year.
So, my point (I think!) is that it is possible - and as it has already been done, can't be difficult!

According to the bakers at the Tartine Bakery, and they know a thing or two, this is their favourite pizza oven ( link). It is very portable. I love how clever this little oven is. Matthew

Cheers Guys,
Thanks for the info. I know its possible to have a wood burning oven in a H Van, have come across several companies on the net. Spoke to a very good conversion company today who have converted H vans with wood burning ovens, the only thing is that there is know info on how much H vans can carry ie weight, nothing in the van or info avaialble.
But I think if you dont go mad with equipment its doable!

Do not know where you have got too with your quest but recently saw a conversion for sale on ebay that was a Mercedes long wheel base sprinter van.
