G’day First... I live on the coast in Queensland Australia.... As you’ve probably figured...,No Clay but lotsa sand. I’ve built a brick oven cause of that. And thanks for waking me up. Check out your local area cuttings, road works etc. You’ll see indications of clay. What the hell are you doing awake anyway.? We are at the end of summer here..,, the last of the hot. That’s 33C and storms.... You must be still in the grip of the cold! Must be planing your spring.... Regards Dave

The forum is alive but in truth the traffic is greater in the warmer months when folk are outside and busy; as to where to find clay, you’re standing on it ! Most of the UK has a layer of clay not too far down and although Edinburgh might be a little rocky you shouldn’t have to travel too far to find someone digging a hole.
