Slate roof to match the house ? Looks like a stunning build; what are you using to measure temp ?

There is 8 k type thermocouples in the oven, a few are spares. The idea is to send all temperatures to a local server. So I can get an idea of heat up and cool down times

Maybe you could organise a flashing display on that panel that says "PIZZA READY"

Maybe you could organise a flashing display on that panel that says "PIZZA READY" I was thinking of a pizza slice animation when it reaches temperature. Hmm but with a bit of timing related to temperature it could be used as a guide.

Still no temperature measurement yet, but hopefully will get one done soon. But its almost finished now Guttering - the guttering runs the water towards the back of the oven into a water butt for using on the garden, Custom Chimney Cap - made to measure by a friend out of stainless steel and painted with black heat resistant spray paint. Internal Cooking Door - for baking and slow cooking. Holds the heat in the oven, used when below oven temperature below 230oC. Patio - the patio has now been put in place around the Wood Oven. Oak Sleeper Table - moved from its old location next to the old Clay Wood fired oven. Electrics - outside electrics added to be used for lighting and oven temperature measurement. All it needs now is a metal door, to replace the temporary external wood door.

Looking very smart, liking the wooden table at the side as well. As to your door try local reclamation yards, I got mine for only £25

I'm almost reluctant to say this BUT, Is that expanding foam that has been used earlier in the build...I only ask I looked at using some myself but having read the warning label on the back found that it gives off carcinogenic fumes over at quite a low temperature. it also advised not to be used around cookers or fire.....just saying

Maybe some thing for future builders to be aware of. It's on top of the high temp insulation blanket and more just to keep the foam glass in place.

After a bit more work the oven is complete apart from temperature measurement. Now looks like this Close up of the door Really pleased with the door, but I do have to keep thinking of a great quote by thomobigands "Just remember first rule of WFO club is never add up the cost of construction"

Yes used it quite a bit for pizzas and roasts etc. Pizzas in trays as I was not brave enough to throw them on the floor at first I am now but no photos of that yet This was after a pizza party At the back left and right two pork joints too big to put in one tin. Right front bread and butter pudding Left centre butternut squash Left front rice pudding All the veggies had to be cooked in the house oven If I had done less deserts could have done all of it in the oven

Gday www.buildinggreen.com/blog/foamglas---my-new-favorite-insulation-materialFound this and it's the only reference I found which says the hydrogen sulphide is basically locked into the cellular structure. Not conclusive but I find no other references that limit its uses
