Cheers guys...I rendered it last week in the sunshine. Went to mix another barrowload for the other half of the dome when the phone rang. Afterwards Went back to put the render on the dome and after two hours realised that I hadn't put the lime in the sand!!! It's easy to get distracted by the phone... So anyway, ripped off the render and will have to do it again tomorrow.

Cracking job! Love the accuracy of the spacing on your arches. Looking forward to seeing the final results on a plate.

Rendering of the base started today...hopefully it will dry lighter. That said, I intend to paint it cream coloured with exterior paint. Dome rendering next... Note improvised peel, which literally took two minutes to make (and it shows!). Attachments:

Hi Richied,
Excellent job and great to see someone "local" (I live in Kirkby). Where did you get your shallow concrete blocks from the base? I used to live in Spain and they were really easy and cheap to get, not seen them anywhere around here tho.
Cheers!
