This is a standard recipe base rather than naan but works just as well. the topping is.. 4 tablespoons tomato passata 100g lean minced beef 2 teaspoons smokey paprika 1 teaspoon Garam masala 1 teaspoon ground cumin 1/2 teaspoon salt Just mix together and sprinkle over. I added onions too. You can change up the spices to suit.

My experiments with naan haven't been too varied, in fact most of the time I just replace the water content with live yoghurt; not too sure how authentic that makes my efforts.

Yes, I'd do the same and maybe a teaspoon of nigella / black onion seeds. Naan from the takeaway are delicious but usually very sweet. I'm not sure if this is authentic, or ( more likely) an effort to play to the uk sweet tooth, but I'm not a fan of sugar in my bread. Now a slathering of ghee on top, I can go for that!
