That's what happens when you take advice from a builder friend after a skin full down the pub. At least it's not going anywhere ey!! I'm going to be playing catch up with the forum as this weekend work starts on the dome. Fingers crossed I'll get it up to date in the next few days.

A couple of weeks later I set about pouring the 3.5 inch concrete slab. I decided on using Hardibacker as the base. one full size board was almost the perfect size, only having to add a small about extra to cover the very front blocks. I chose this method given my lack of carpentry skills rather than making a frame for a sheet of plywood to then be removed once the slab had cured. Next I attached a series of bits of timber to act as supports for the shuttering which were then joined together using right angle metal brackets. The concrete pour went ok, I made sure to add more rebar along the way
