Hi all I'm almost afraid to ask this question as I think I already know that answer (and I really don't want to begin all over again) but... Can anyone advise me on whether these cracks that have appeared in the first thermal clay/sand layer of my oven are terminal and will need me to start from scratch or whether they can be patched with oven mix at all (and if so, do I need to cut away around the cracks first or just fill them)? If you can see the attached photos you should be able to see how wide they are and (thought it's not very clear) in the second picture that they seem to go through to the sand form/newspaper underneath. Just after I'd completed the layer, the hot weather hit and although I covered it with a damp blanket to keep it cool, I assume it's dried too quickly and these appeared. As ever, any advice would be very gratefully received. Attachments:
