Still at the early stages. But seems to work as expected. Using a Smoker meat probe from eti A single MAX31855 thermocouple IC on the back The wemos esp 32 has a built in oled display and wifi Basic webpage gives temperature and ideal cooking temperatures for easy reference So now I have a good idea how the meat in the oven is cooking without opening the oven. I still use a proper meat probe to check the meat when it comes out of the oven. The wemos esp32 is getting a bit hot sometimes so will replace it with a esp8266 and oled instead as they appear rock solid More information on my blog page WIFI Meat Probe

A more elegant solution is a MEATER which has two temperature sensors, one for the middle of the meat and another for the air temperature in the oven. These sensors talk to your phone via Bluetooth, so no wires or need to open oven. meater.com/

I promise you I was never trying to be elegant I do have an esp8266 to three MAX318555 devices monitoring the oven itself just have not written it up on here yet.
