My first reaction was to check what temperature aluminium melts at and apparently it’s 660°. Your oven could easily exceed that during firing up. Or are beer kegs not ali? I always assumed they were.
That aside looks like a fun project.
Couple of things I’d look at.
The first horizontal layer of blocks aren’t sat on much in the centre. They’re actually very fragile. Do you have some sort of lintel that I can’t see holding them also?
Material aside if you’re going to the effort of building a base that size I’d be inclined to put something on the top of it with a bit more volume than the keg.
Not wishing to be negative just a couple of observations on things to look at before you get too far in.
All the best with it.

Don’t worry too much though. The span is pretty small so if there is no lintel I’m sure you’ll get away with it. Are the blocks lightweight/thermalite or concrete? Either way, I assume you will be but if you can, render the base rather than just painting it. As said they’re pretty fragile. Temperature as said before would be my main concern.

Yeah I think there are many short comings, especially illy the size . I've since boxed in the flue with perlite cement and invested in 50 quids worth of aluminium silicate insulation. It might finish up looking like a donut , but I'm determined to make this functional 🙂

The barrel was actually sat on some storage heater fireblocks I'd cut to size and cast into perlite cement for bulk

think the perlite and insulation was the most expensive items think it will come in about £230. You're right though the fun has been in doing this 🙂
