Rick and Maggie Coldman..were fortunate in having their Barrel/Vault oven designed and built with the co-operation of the Great Allan Scott.
"Mair’s Bakehouse uses an Alan Scott 5 x7 Retained Heat Wood Fired Oven to bake each week supplying local shops and markets. Our loaves are made from flour we purchase from Felin Ganol Watermill and Maud foster Windmill. The electrical equipement in the Bakehouse and adjoining home is all powered by a 2.5 kw Proven Wind Turbine which was installed 7 years ago. There is no mains power. The wood used to fire the oven comes from local forests and also carpentry off- cuts. "
"We are holding some open days for people to look at oven and setup, they are this Sunday 24/7/11 and Monday 29/8/11."
