Bordeilles is a local village to me and it has a WFO right outside the Mayors office just over the bridge by the castle. Bordeilles is a pretty village with a Chateau and a Castle on the banks of the River Dronne. It can get a bit busy in the summer as it is just down the road from Brantome the Venice of the Dordogne (which has a WFO in a restaurant in a cave). The claws must be the builders mark. There is a waterpump at the side of the oven. This oven shows one method to take the chimney to the rear of the oven. It is a large construction for a not very big oven. I have never seen it being used but it shows evidence of recent use.

I forgot to say the sharp eyed will notice an eye hole in the oven door - first time I have seen this.

Bob Cracking oven......I love seeing these old structures and am in talks with The Natural history of Wales Museum at St. Fagan's Cardiff for an insiders tour of this bread oven that was built in 1900, then moved to ...and rebuilt in 1987. Terry
