I have been looking around to try and get Caputo flour in Ireland. I can only source it from England. The base price is £16.50 per 25Kg but shipping is quite expensive.
I was wondering if there are many members in Ireland (ROI & NI) who would be interested; if there are enough of us it might work out cheaper to group order on a pallet and split the costs.
If anyone else is interested could you please PM me with your email address and based on numbers we can see if it is worth our while.
Thanks Lawrence

I must ask - where do you find caputo flour for £16.50? I'm getting it at £24 or so!

That was the quote I got earlier yesterday from these guys, I don't know what their UK delivery rates are like though. I'm in Ireland and would have to pay the pallet price.

Caputo is overated in my experience but i have seen mainly the caputo blue in naples which i think is lessgluten or something as its slowewr proving time for a minimum of 12 hrs where it develops the flavour. I have used just as good flour from italian food importers or bakery in the uk but i used to fill my suitcase with flour which in the naples airport they fully understand but i get some funny looks back at stanstead airport when everbody else is carrying booze and fags..
the best one was from a bakey in mabel street bedford called "Panificio Chirico Bakery " their bread is so good i travel about 90 miles to get some and they will sell you flour which i think is canadian for about £20 a sack.
have a search in Ireland as I have seen a good bakey on the tv based in dublin that specialises in italian breads, see what they have or an italian food importer which normally supply businesses.

Thanks for the advice.
I have been looking around and I think you might be right. I have found that some other 00 quality flours may be available in certain shops and I have found a trade supplier who also have a 00 bakery quality pizza flour. I think they supply a local hotel so I may speak with them about ordering for me.
I'll post the results of my exploites once I see whats around.
Thanks again.

Cool - thanks!
I went over to the NifeIsLife (nifeislife.com) warehouse; which ironically is only a few minutes down the M40 from my house. I've been ordering from them for years, and only now realised I could pick up - DOH!
They had both the red and blue caputo flour in 25kg bags, and some in 1kg bags. Picked up a 25kg back for £23.50.
If it helps you, I can buy it and send it over for whatever the cheapest courier you can find.

Would you let me have your contact details please regarding Caputo, I would like to try it.
At present I am using molino pasini from Pallas foods in Ireland. I have had really good results with it.
