I have a nearly unlimited ( well for my use ) supply of fruit and nut woods here in France BUT we are thinking of coming back to blighty next year . My question is should i stash my wood and bring it back to blighty to store or will it be quite easy and inexpensive to obtain fruit woods in blighty . ( just have a yard there so no place to plant )

I believe there is an import and movement ban on live ash trees and also ash wood, which is to be introduced Monday. The scope of the ban may change as they understand more about how the disease managed to get over here.

Thanks Faz ......was hoping to get not only my fruit woods over but my ash etc for a woodburningoven stove but I think I will concentrate on the cooking woods. Cutting a load of hazel this week and willow which I will replant in the banking. Will make do with the free poplar for the log burner.
