I am always on the lookout for possible "free wood"
Just today somebody was telling me about the big problem his brother has as he lives next to a river in Worcestershire which is constantly getting blocked up with fallen trees and he was complaining that they have to keep calling the water authorities to clear it. they dredge the trees out with a rope and trebble hook and leave them on the side for another company to take them away.
what a mother lode I thought, but unfortunatly I have about 5 years worth of logs, cut, split and stacked thanks to my new log splitter.
what a great opprtunity for somebody else though as if its happening here then I bet any river with woodlands upstream will get the same.
Just then another person said he has a similar problem with logs as his neigbour keeps leaving logs on his front drive hoping somebody willn take them but they keep mouting up and are an eyesore. I dont know where he is getting these from but if I needed logs I would get the trailer on tonight and pay him a visit hehehe.
Fords is to close down in Southampton, loads of thick palett wood to go for
Government say they will be building thousands of hoses on green belt land. now while this is strange considering they have just spent millions evicting gypsys from their own land because it was green belt, what is the difference. There will be lots of free logs once the excavators get in here as well as the new high speed rail link should furnish you with enough logs to build a wooden bridge to the moon.
While I am on the subject of Gypsys, if ever your passing one of their sites you will notice they will dump a lot of rubble and waste but very often they cut trees down for money and dump them here. either give them a few quid for it or wait until they leave and then its free
ps bonfire night coming up soon, should be plenty of free wood around
