We're having a good year so far on the allotment. We are harvesting the 3 varieties of taters, got the onions drying under cloches; the crop of garlic will be taking their place at the weekend as the better half is going to plait the onions and hang them up in the garage. The apple tree is full of fruit. I pulled nearly 12lbs of blackcurrants off the bush - that's translated into 3 gallons of wine and the rest combined with 2 pints of vodka in a kilner jar that will become a creme de cassis in the new year. Sweet corn growing,cabbages,beetroot, broccoli, raspberries,sprouts.....loving it.
