Knocked these up yesterday for today as well. Instead of deep frying them I baked them in the oven. Attachments:

Hey Rg,
Would you mind just summarizing the cooking process. I've tried scotch eggs in the oven before and always seem to end up with breading that's either too pale and crumbly or burnt to a crisp!
Thanks, JK.

Oh .... I am such a bung it in and hope for the best cook I made them up as normal and put them in the oven preheated to 3/4 I did turn them occasionally ( just to keep them out of the fat) and left them until looking nicely coloured . I have put by a few for a birthday party tomorrow so will see if they last. I was going to roll a final roll in Panka crumbs like the veg. Ones to aid with the crisping in the oven but they honestly did not need it. I so hope that helps

That's panko crumbs , I just realised that my iPad is turning the word into Panka!! Ps if you want me to let you know times etc next time I make them I will time them . At the moment I just take them out when they look ready. Pps ! I always fry a bit of mySausage mix up to test it for seasonings etc

Thanks RG, I think that's enough. You mentioned that you tuned them occasionally to keep them out of the fat, is that the fat that rendered out of the pork or did you add some fat before cooking. Either way I think I understand the cooking process better now. JK
P.s. You've also coerced me into the veggie/vegan section of the forum for your veggie eggs, something I never thought would happen! There's hope for us all, lol.
