Ha I'm getting the impression you're abit of a curry head Dave! Can't say ive ever tried a curry inspired topping but if you recommend it I might give it a bash! I've done sweet chilli chicken and chicken fajita pizza though!

Yes, your right. two of my favourite food items combined together to make a cracker. i suppose its just a glorified curry and naan bread but the cheese certainly blends magnificently with the whole affair. my local indian takeaway does a prawn bhuna balti pizza thats superb...I think it may be my next experiment

been to a few good curry houses down there myself when i was younger my mum lived down there so always went for a balti when i visited. theres nothing wrong with a jar curry though, i think the aldi ones are pretty good with the separate spice mix on the lids, marinade the meat overnight in the spice and some oil seems to make a difference. i'm keen to try some of those forum recipes as the local indians where i live now are hit and miss and some of those curries on the forum look incredible! maybe you could share some of your recipes with us if you get chance !

this is genius; i share some of the concerns and raised eyebrows about the curry/pizza thing... but if you were using geeta's - that is the best lime pickle ever!

This Balti recipe was provided by a pro Indian chef in Birmingham. I have been using it for nearly 20 years and haven't poisoned anyone yet.
Balti Chicken
Tsp = Teaspoon tbsp = tablespoon
2 medium onions: peel, chop and boil with 2 cups of water, remove from the heat, let cool and crush with juices using an electric blender. 2lbs boned chicken cut into 3 cm cubes 8 tbsp mustard oil ( oil with mustard powder) 1 small onion peeled and finely shredded
1/2 sweet pepper finely chopped 1 tbsp coriander finely chopped 1 1/2 tsp Kashmiri Masala 1 1/2 tspn garlic paste (crushed garlic) 1 tsp ginger paste ( crushed fresh ginger root) 2 tsp ground Turmeric 1 tsp ground coriander 1 tsp ground cumin 3 tsp tomato puree 1 green chilli chopped 1 tsp garam masala 2 cups water 1 tsp salt 1 1/2 tsp paprika
mix everything together very well in a karahi or wok. Start cooking over a high flame uncovered, when the ingredients begin to boil stir with a wooden spoon. Continue to cook for another 15 minutes stiring them frequently. Turn the flame down to medium, cover the Karahi or wok with any lid as appropriate (I used kitchen foil). Contunue to cook for another 15 minutes stiring once or twice. Then remove the lid and turn the flame to low/simmer. Continue to cook for another 20 - 25 minutes, during this last cooking time do not cover the karahi or wok, stir occasionally but very gently. Remove from heat and let it rest for 10 minutes. Servewith naan bread or even rice.

After pizza nirvana comes roast garlic pizza nirvana... on a bed of pataks balti paste, cheddar cheese, spinach and six cloves of roast garlic roughly chopped...mmmmmm difficult to know where to go with this now, perhaps try another type of cheese. took the results indoors to consume as living within spitting distance of the north sea made outdoor dining challenging..horizontal sleet and rain.
