Hi,
Ive insulated and rendered my oven. It has a single wall flue and ive left a gap of around 10 mm around the flue (between the flue and render) so the flue wont expand and crack the render.
I was planning on filling this with high temp silicone to waterproof. It seems most high temp silicone is useful to about 250 or 300 degrees celcius. Do you think that will be okay?

I'm afraid there really is only one way to find out for sure; personally I think it'll be fine, although your flue temp will probably get close to those quoted figures.

Look for Envirograf 1200C silicone. You can get it on Ebay. I've used it to seal the flue pipe on my indoor woodburner, so far without problems.
