Another experiment with the leftover burger and sausage mix. It worked out well and instead of deep frying I cooked them in the oven. I upped the leek content on these ones. The recipe was the same as for Glamorgan sausages. ( breadcrumbs, leeks and cheese) I pre cooked the leeks in butter for extra taste . Attachments:

Gael Celtic, they really are fab! I took some over to one of my french neighbours ( her husband is the local baker) and she had the recipe for aperitifs !! I think the panko crumbs gave them a crisp texture but I could. Not find them when I went shopping yesterday so I am going to try and use crackers instead.

Rivergirl Me too....I must try these on the weekend... ...also interested in your neighbors recipe's for aperitifs....when I was living in France my neighbors had all sorts of aperitif recipes using things like bay leaves, unripe walnuts and even blackthorn twigs steeped into the wine, eau de vie and sugar. Terry nothing like that here I am afraid, the twigs sound intriguing?? When I first came here they thought that I was a witch because I was always out foraging....... I have just knocked up some labneh for Wednesday BBQ night aperos if that's any good
