Hi all i bought a modular Verona oven from Terracotta Warehouse early last year. Was all built and cured as per their instructions. After about 12 firings the base has split in two and has started to spall to the stage that its too rough to cook pizza off. Any one had any similar problemss or know of the best way to repair- Cut out damaged concrete base area and repair it thought of tiling base?? What are the best tiles. The shop just fobbed me off saying i must have done something wrong so this is my last chance.

Hello Matachini....welcome to the forum.
Such a shame the supplier won't even advise on a remedy. I had a section on our old forum for modular oven suppliers, but it turned a bit sour between disgruntled owners and suppliers so on this forum I rely on members to give first hand comments on their own modular ovens.
The only thing I can suggest is to get hold of 1" fire-bricks and lay them on top of your existing hearth. I don't know that oven so I don't know how much space you have to be able to get inside and do a repair job (you probably need a skinny D.I.Yer.) You could also use clay pavers which are 3/4 of an inch deep but these may? spall over time. Your location may hinder you in getting hold of 1" fire-bricks. Kiln linings sells them (about £1 each) but he's in Sheffield (I think). If you were close to S.Wales I could give you enough clay pavers for the repair.
Sorry I can't be of any more help.

I cant find their website perhaps they gone down. on the old forum there is a post from this company claiming all sorts. Send them a recorded letter and ask for some help to get this oven fit for purpose they may have misunderstood your problem. They have to prove you were negligent. This company should support their customers and should be smart enough to know that a small market like WFO is going to be a lot about peoples experiences if they want more sales..
Is the dome part OK, if so then cut the base off and build a new concrete platform finished with a layer of firebricks then fix the dome down to the new base onto a bed of firclay and bobs your uncle?, Send us some images of the oven and the damage, maybe there is a quick fix.

Quarry tiles laid on the existing floor, bedded on a homebreww mix might be an option, as long as the floor isn't going to disintegrate further. Cutting the floor out sounds like a hard job to me!
