yes ipads, iPhones and other mobile devices don't allow browsers file access so cannot browse for images on the device :-(
for posting images its good to resize them, google Pisces is free and allows you to edit photos, make them lighter if required, crop bits out and resize. We should probably say nothing wider than 800 pixels in the largest dimension. Also when saving an image as jpeg there is a quality setting so it's possible to reduce its file size size without affecting the physical size, it can effect quality tho but for large objects like an oven you don't have fine detail like hair or something so can afford to drop it down with no real penalty.
perhaps I will post some practical examples to highlight that,
these should make us more 56k friendly for bob and the pages generally load faster for everyone.

Rokdoc Your image didn't work. When you click on the link .....it just downloads the image.....which doesn't work either. I've just had a play about with the system and the "choose file" option works fine......click on the "choose file" box... it takes you to your own images in your PC. left click on one of your images the clicl "open".....the image will appear at the foot of your post once you have posted the reply. The second option of using the image upload icon (click on the image picture just above the angry smilie)......2 img's in brackets will appear. make sure the cursor is blinking between the 2 brackets, then right click and choose the paste option.......you will have previously right clicked on an image and chosen it's "copy image URL" This second option always works for me with images I have posted on other sites...or downloaded somewhere. On other peoples images sometimes the picture appears but sometimes just a link.....perhaps Turkey or one of the other members can explain this. The above image was created using the second option via a downloaded image on my old forum. The old forum is closed for posting, but I have left the very last category (dresdo) open for test and image downloading purposes. If any member wants to use my old forum to download images....then upload them here...this is the process.... You must be regestered with my old forum for this to work..or simply register.... Go to dresdo... woodovenukforum.forumup.co.uk/viewforum.php?f=85&mforum=woodovenukforum Click on "new topic"....enter your username and test in the subject box. Click on the blue "upload image to image shack"...it opens up a new window. click "browse" and choose a pic from your own PC and click open. Click upload now and after a few seconds it gives you ...Links to share....left click on the box alongside Forum code....it turns blue. Hold the ctrl key and press the c key.....go back to the old forum window and in the text box hold the ctrl key and press the v key. Again leave a space after the url code and the url code should be underlined. Press submit and your image will appear on your thread. Right click the image....choose the image url and paste it on this forum using the 2nd option. It's a bit complicated but using this method you can put multiple images in the same post Hope I haven't bored you too much with this. Terry

Hi Terry , Sorry haven't replied but didn't try again until last night. I've uploaded the images onto photobucket and now I'll try attaching one. If this doesn't work I'll try again at the weekend RD

Rokdoc Your link didn't work. I'm not sure what you are doing wrong (Turkey probably does) but your link started with brackets around the first img and ended with /img.....both should have had brackets like so....[ ] surrounding the img's I added the brackets to your link and hey presto.....we've got an image. Now then......that's one sexy beast of a stand you've built there!!!...lovely craftmanship. Terry p.s...try this....first right click on your image and choose image url......click reply.....when you have an empty reply box click on the "insert image" icon (just above the angry smilie) and this will appear... ![]() [/img] ...place the blinking cursor between the 2 img brackets....right click......choose the copy/paste option. Make sure the cursor is directly after the last img bracket, then press the space bar.......the link should now be underlined.....either click preview...or just go for it and press post reply...see what happens? Terry
