This one is so easy that you do not even need measurements!! Thick yoghurt , greek if you can or homemade. ( I make mine in a wide necked flask) Salt the yoghurt ( this is a matter of taste as to how much) and put it in muslin or a j cloth and tie it together. Hang it from a hook over a bowl and leave to drip for at least 24 hours. Roll it into walnut size balls and then roll the balls into Chopped chives Chopped peppers Chillies Sumac Paprika etc. put the balls into a jar of olive oil and leave for two days. Will last for about 2 weeks in the fridge. Attachments:

I've been making this for a while now, and was going to post recipe, when I saw that you already had Rivergirl.
I have just recently started making my own yoghourt too, as I don't really like the stuff that we get here. I absolutely love the Lidl greek yoghourt which is very creamy, but not easy for me to get, living in the north on the island. Anyway, made my first batch using the Lidl yoghourt and was so impressed. Not quite so good as the Lidl's one, but it will do nicely. Am going to freeze a batch of the Lidl yoghourt in ice cubes, to use as a starter, whenever it needs replacing.....that is if I can keep my hands off the stuff, keep eating it.

Wide neck flask here too. So simple. Will try the yoghourt ice cream at some point. (no room in the freezer for my bowl at the moment).

I keep saying that I will invest in a machine that does not need freezing!! Not even going down that route. I have no room for any more gadgets in my kitchen, and even if I did, couldn't justify the expense for the use it would get. Now, another freezer might be a plan.

I thought I was bad having two cabinet freezers in the UK. Here I have one, and also a chest freezer, which doubles as a drinks fridge. At the moment it's for drinks, in the winter I can use it as a freezer. I have absolutely no room anywhere for another one without being in the way somewhere, and no way could I have one outside. I will just have to be content with what I have.
