So, we planned a pizza night for tomorrow night and planned to pick up some kiln dried wood from my (only) local supplier today but he's bloody closed for the weekend. Anyway, asked my dad to have a look around and after speaking to a very knowledgeable guy in a local outdoor centre, picked me up a couple of bags of these. The bloke asked what they were for and was very familiar on WFO and suggested these would be perfect. Their web site also suggests they can be used in BBQ's Anyone got any experience of them? And, they were only a fiver for a 10kg bag

As long as they are made from natural wood product and not recycled wood from salvage they should be fine. Some of this type of product could contain lead paint and wood preservatives etc and not suitable for food use. Having just read their website, they are made of softwood dust, so should be fine, but will properly burn quiet fast, but should be fine for a few pizzas. I would give them a go if I was in the same position !
