I've finished pointing over the last two days. Next I've got to clean it up. I've also started buying pizzamaking supplies.

G'day Recon you have that oven pretty hot judging the underside of those pizza. Which by the way look pretty good from where I'm sitting. No way would I be sending those back to the kitchen. From the oven pic you have a good coal bed, but no flame. Try keeping 1/2 doz sticks ( yes thumb thickness sticks) of dry wood pre heating at the oven entrance. That way when you toss them on the coal bed they will burst straight into flame. The heat can't go into those hot oven walls and be reflected back cooking the top of you pizza and replenishing the heat on your hearth floor. Hope this helps Regards dave

A bigger rolling flame should do it. I've made up my weatherproofing door over the last few days. The wood was part of an old tabletop, sanded down, and four coats of varnish. With a couple of handles and a weathersealing strip around it.

G'day That overhang top slab really looks like it needs "filling in " with something. What's the plans? More of that smart brickwork ? Regards Dave

Shame this thread ends here so close to final completion. Your build is going to be the inspiration for my own starting this summer. Any hope of some pics of the finished masterpiece? Cheers!
