Ronnie. Kilwinning
Where did you get your design from, and where did you buy material from. At planning stage just now. Have you finished the oven?

Ronnie. Kilwinning Where did you get your design from, and where did you buy material from. At planning stage just now. Have you finished the oven? I got the basic building materials from a local builder's merchants and Jewsons. Refractory materials I got from Kilnlinings.co.uk using the forum 10% discount code. The basic plans were following the Forno Bravo guide www.scribd.com/doc/36508136/Pompeii-Oven-Plans2-0, and reading a lot of build threads on here and on the Forno Bravo forum.

I touch my forelocks to your Sir......what a fine build!!
I admire your skill and patience in the cutting of your dome bricks.
...also really interested in how you get on with the exercise ball to finish off your dome. I've heard of a couple of people using this method. I always use a sand dome for the top, but sometimes it's a bit hit and miss in how good the interior looks.
Great job.

Great job and I love the final layers and keystone. I think I've followed about 200 Pompeii builds over the last 5 or 6 years and don't think I've seen any 1 exactly the same. I like the idea of the inflatable ball although as you mentioned, the previous layers would have to be set before putting too much pressure into the ball. If there was such a thing as a half spherical inflatable ball it would be the perfect form for a Clay/Cob build?
Thanks for sharing the build with us with a full photo diary. This will be another perfect thread to link to for newbies looking for advice on Pompeii oven building.

Your build continues to be very impressive - look forward to seeing it progressing, hopefully the weather will hold up so we can both get finished asap. Cheers Sel
