A new Wood-fired oven book being released in the UK in November.
I've been privileged to proof read this book and it's contents are a wealth of info from detailed up to date photos of all types of oven construction, combined with insider tips on building a WFO through to a easy to read process of bread baking, methods and recipes to full oven management....and lots more.
I shall update this thread when I know the official release date in the UK along with the price and details where to purchase.

" From the Wood-fired Oven" has just gone into publication in the UK and is available from... Green Shopping.. www.green-shopping.co.uk/books/food-and-drink/from-the-wood-fired-oven.html A few words from the publisher... A new book From the Wood-Fired Oven: New and Traditional Techniques for Cooking and Baking with Fire by American artisan baker Richard Miscovich is 416 pages of inspiring and thoroughly comprehensive advice on how to get the most out of your oven, from making bread and pizzas to recipes designed to get as much use as possible out of a single oven firing. Also included are chapters on roasting fish and meats, grilling steaming, braising and frying. Although it's an American book, the measurements are all in metric as well as imperial. From the Wood-Fired Oven is available in the UK from Green Shopping at a special price of £28, p&p free in the UK, as well as through all good high street and online retailers and would make a great Christmas present! A few words from me... I never endorse a product but this is a fine book covering all aspects of building and baking in Wood-fired ovens. I would put it among The Bread Builder and Building an earth Oven as a very informative and up to date book covering all aspects of Wood-fired ovens. Terry

Terry,
How much of the the 416 pages cover building or firing the oven? Personally, I have already done the building, and know how to fire it, so if there is only half of the book full of recipes I might think again for the high cost.

Duncan
About a third of the book is devoted to oven building and about another third is devoted to oven management. In all all honesty only a third of the book covers diverse recipe's so maybe the cost of the book may not justify your need in buying a wood-fired oven book just for recipe's.
The book interests me as it covers all types of wood-fired construction from Clay/Cob to Pompeii designs and gives in-depth design along with photos of mid construction of all designs. It goes into depth of oven management and using the full heat cycle etc.
I'm always trying to improve my knowledge on wood-fired ovens and with my own practical experience in building WFO's for other people and the knowledge gained from members of the forum, I can very often pass on my knowledge to members with awkward questions who are trying to build their own Wood-fired oven. This book gives me a lot more in-depth knowledge of WFO's and so will help me to pass on more info to enthusiasts joining the forum.

I have bought this book recently and think it is an excellent book for bread baking in a wood fired oven. Have made loads of the breads from the book and like the the idea behind the book. It's good to see how to build, how to use it to its best and what to cook in it.
