Hi peeps, I'm benji and I am thinking about setting up my own pizza oven. I have some space set aside but not sure what type of oven to go for. I want to make traditional Naples Pizza so the Pompeii oven is probably what I will need. Question: if I go for a modular like the Bernito will it make traditional pizza with a thin base at high temperature or are they better suited to 'pizza-like' creations. Lots of inspirational photos on your old site made me come here. b.

Hi Benji and welcome to the forum.
Mine's a diy pompeii but pretty sure the well reviewed modular ovens can do the business for pizza. I'm sure you'll get some first hand comments from owners soon.

Hi Benji and welcome. There's such an array of great ovens out there and all ovens will do a Naples Pizza. Mine is a Barrel Oven made from recycled material mostly, and it cooks the best pizza i've ever had. Cheers Marcus

Hello Benji.......welcome aboard.
A modular oven should work just the same as a home built Pompeii. Usually they haven't got the insulation required for sustained oven temp, which means you may have to burn a little more wood to keep the temp constant for pizza party's.....the difference will be minimal, plus, modular ovens get up to temperature a lot quicker......
I think quite a few members have bought a Bernito oven......haven't used one myself so can't comment, but I hope you get some feedback from the members.
In answer to your question.....Pompeii ovens and Modular ovens are better suited to Neopolitan style pizza's. Thin crust pizza's always come out better.
