Hi, When I first started looking at a wfo, the over riding problem was getting into our garden without a crane ! ( no rear access). I was looking mainly for cooking pizzas and ended up with a lightweight Bernito oven, which is great for pizzas, but not so good for baking etc as they are a low mass oven and once the fire is removed call quiet quickly. If I had seen this oven 3 years ago it would have been on the contender list. I do not have great DIY skills, so building an oven from scratch is out for me, and this one looks like even I could manage it. If you do go ahead, keep us posted as would love to find out how you find it ! Good luck Muddy4x4

Hi Michael, and welcome! It does seem a bit on the diddy side, but if space and fuel is key then go for it. Its pretty low priced for a pre-form oven too. Maybe a reflection on the size. Insulation isn't a prerequisite, but it improves an oven by maximising the heat produced by your fuel and gives a potential for residual heat cooking. I'd say that the ceramic blanket, vermicrete and render method would suit it well. Kilnlinings can provide a price for the blanket, along with vitcas and ebay. Vermiculite is around £12 a 100ltr bag through a Jewsons and our forum discount code. No experience of the oven, but it says its ok for pizza, so the oven floor should be ok. That picture looks like a finished oven, and it looks like you need to build the stand too. If you have a budget, then it may be worth a go, but i reckon i managed to build my oven for a lot less than that using a keen eye for a bargain and my own fair hands. My worry with this particular oven is the size really, and should you find yourself really liking the wood fired cooking, you'd soon outgrow it and £500. Keep searching around, and make sure that you weigh up all the pros and cons. I'm sorry but i can't offer any other suggestions for manufacturers, as i haven't ever gone down, or thought of the pre-formed route. We'll be here to help...or hinder your search!

BBQ s like this are common in France , therefore perhaps they are cheaper?? I am sure that someone here bought a metal version of this.
