Quite by accident the grapes that I have grown in the pergola covering the outside area have been well and truly cold smoked over the months Am going to make a jelly this week with them and some sloes , if the smoky flavour comes across then it should go great with meat and cheese!!

Well made and about to bottle , I did two separate lots cooked the first lot up to more of a cheese consistency. This one is lovely you just get the smokiness coming through. The second batch I mad with adding elderberries, sloes , blackberries and blackcyurrants and I added nutmeg, ginger and cinnamon , for a mulled taste. This does not seem to be smoky but I like the spices.

If there's any left! We had friends come for lunch yesterday so had it with the pork tray bake instead of apple sauce . mind you as the smoked grapes were an accident I don't reckon I will be trying this again.,
