G'day I'm presuming its for the mortar in which case its refractory properties are not required at the temperatures that our WFO operate. In saying that it is good to have a clay content in the mortar as it makes it stick to the brick better, your able to squish and move the brick slightly without breaking bond. that's got to be a good thing for first time bricklaying. You can use powdered clay or ask for brickies sand which comes with a clay content. Hope this helps

The company is called Alphatherm Inc. Hope this helps!!
