Hello, I have just purchased a modular oven which will arrive in a couple of weeks. It has everything I need from base and base insulation, fire brick hearth, dome, ceramic fibre insulation and chicken wire. I now have to decide what to do on top of this. I have read a few instructions from companies such as Vitcas who recommend just using outdoor oven fire cement straight on top of the chicken wire/fibre blanket. This can then be painted to provide the final layer. It seems easy! On here and across other builds I have seen, a lot of people use vermiculite and then a wide range of renders. K-rend, lime mortar mix, homebrew?! just to name a few. Does anyone have any advice to give on this? I main intent for the oven is pizza but I would be keen to try some other slower meals such as pulled pork too. Thanks, Adam
