Howdy Folks,
Like most posters I'm looking for tips, advice and inspiration to build an outdoor pizza oven. We are avid BBQ'ers and live in our coastal garden all summer. We've used an oven in an Umbrian holiday rental a few years ago for pizzas and roasts and were hooked. I'll keep a video diary once I get going but would welcome any advice or pointers towards a set up that has a driftwood or beach shack feel (bearing in mind fire hazards).
Thank you in advance!

Welcome! You could make the protective roof very shack looking!! And if you are going to decorate it using beach flotsam that woul look great, , I don't know what shells you get where you are but I have start collecting oyster shells the inside will shine like beautifully when hit by the sun....

Thanks for the replies folks. We bit the bullet and purchased a Mezzo 76 from the Stone Bake Oven Co. I'm still working the plan through in my head but heading towards a mixture of building in the oven on a polished concrete counter top over a Western Red Cedar clad timber frame. Cedar is a great seaside timber and within a year will fade down to a driftwood grey . I'm also going to add a built in BBQ grill (not built of wood). I'm thinking of building the oven in a roofed cube with either a slate or shingle covering. Can anyone see obvious issues with this set up? Sketch attached, also a similar set up on SBO's site

Hi Moggy,
I have yet to take delivery!. My post above was to ask if my design (the sketch)had any obvious flaws. The pic is of a similar set up I found on the SBO site.
Are you happy with the Mezzo? Cheers !

Ahh silly me, setup looks good, If I'd have had space I'd have liked something like that but was pretty limited.
Loving the mezzo. Been resisting the urge to fire it up every night and practice for Saturdays pizza party
