I had the same issue with the blades not cutting well at all. I found out that this was because I had not soaked the bricks for long enough and I was pressing the blade too hard against the brick. This caused the cutting part of the blade to get destroyed in seconds and only after correcting my technique did I manage to get through loads of bricks.

Thank 4 the advice mozo. I think i've been using the wrong disc. Because i just tried my old cra.. Old tile cutter with a 15 years old blade and cut it with no problems ?

The diamond blade should cut them with ease if it is brand new.
Try cutting something made of concrete. Firebricks are actually pretty soft as far as bricks go and sometimes the blade needs to work against something strong to expose the diamonds.

hi jms,did u bought your bricks from kilinings? because they are pretty tough! i called liam today and he told me that an ordinary diamond blade disc wont work.it must be for harder stone like granite

I did get mine from Kilnlinings, and I used a brandless diamond blade from ebay to cut them, although I used a masonry saw rather than an angle grinder. The hardness thing was something I read once on Fornobravo forum.
Can't hurt to try a new blade.
