i've got a question, yesterday i've had a visit from a couple of neighbours that live behind me complaining about the smoke and the look of the chimney.i obviously don't want upset anybody but, first of all i'm using kiln dreid wood wich barely makes any smoke and then i tryed to explain to them that at the moment i'm using it nearly everyday because i'm dryng it,but from now on i'm gonna be using it only on a saturday night. so yesterday i've been researching and it seems to me that there is no much that they con do about it,obviously unless i start burning cr.. everiday....is that right??on the gov website it says the even on smoke controlled areas the pizza oven its ok www.gov.uk/smoke-control-area-rules (where i live its not a smoke controlled area) thanks guys

Fu...... Neighbours already complained, we call the council to check with then and they sayd that someone already called them. They sayd that they have to send the environmental inspector to check ( not really worryed about him) and the planning guy, do i need to worry about him?? Does anybody knows if u need planning and what are the regs to follow? Thanks

I always find that a few pizzas handed over to the neighbours helps when it comes to a little smoke blowing over their way. I suppose it depends on how well you get on with them really. Explain to Environmental Inspector that you're using kiln dried wood which should only be smoking for the first twenty minutes anyway. If you're only using the oven once a week or so then I can't see there being much of an issue. It's certainly no more of a nuisance than someone lighting up a BBQ.
