Hi all - again I've got my basis structure done, with firebrick cooking floor and old red solids for the dome ( build thread). I figured I was ready to start insulating, but I've just thought that maybe I might need to add some more thermal mass, since the base is so much denser than the dome (which is just one brick-width thick). I'd been wondering why I'd seen people rendering underneath their (dome) insulation too, then the penny eventually dropped - thermal mass. Any tips? I'd kind of like to avoid it if possible as I'm running out of lime
