Hi, i've recently completed my wfo, and my b... Neighbours at the back of the garden have complained to the council. Regarding the smoke the council sayd that they gave the neighbours a diary to keep a record of the smoke for then decide if its worth investigating any further,i only use it once a week so that should be ok. Regarding the planning officer they say its ok but because i'm within 2 mt of boundary it can't be higher then 2.5 mt wich is not very good for the flue. Does anybody know where i can found an official definition of a wfo to ask to ask the officer to consider the flue not like a part of the structure. Does anybody else had this problem? Thanksss

I guess the first question to ask is what is the overall height including the flue? I've just checked mine and it is 2.45m to the flue exit with a 1m flue, which is bigger than many. What height is your flue?

At the moment is about 3.7 mt, i've got 2m of double wall flue, internal diameter 18cm i think, so i gonna hsve to order a bigger flue , probably 25cm diameter wich is gonna live me with just over 50cm of flue, hopefully should be fine

remind them, that when leccy and gas prices become so extortionate that only the well healed can afford it, then we will all be cooking in the back garden. just think how well there comments will be recieved then.
