Hi All, I am going to build a Pompeii style oven using old solid bricks but I want to build the cooking surface out of FireBricks. I was looking at the Forno Bravo plans for the 36" oven and I have calculated around 55-60 bricks. Does that seem about right.
Thanks in advance
Mark

G'day That sounds about right. It counts in the entrance hearth as well as being a bit liberal for off cuts which of course could be used for the dome., which you can't. I recon you could cut that down by 10 bricks easy by doing the entrance floor in soft reds and building the dome outside the hearth( it's not that hard I did it that way) Regards dave
