hello everyone, 
Just starting my first venture into making WFO! No building experience at all, so quite a challenge, I laid the foundations this weekend and spent most of Saturday cutting storage heater blocks, I looked like I had been mining afterwards! 

Will start a thread in the build section, but thanks to all for the invaluable information on this site... without which I would not have known where to start! Fingers crossed......

Where did you get your storage heater blocks from, I have my base built but going crazy looking for suitable bricks dor the hearth and dome?

Got them off eBay. There are usually a few on there. I have got 70, but not sure how many I will need.
Can try free cycle and preloved but I could not find any on there. The other way is to look out on free cycle for old storage heaters and take the bricks out yourself. Usually this would be free, but have to get them out and also get rid of the metal casing. It depends on how quick you want the bricks....
If you are picking up, they are heavy by the way!

I am building my first too in hudds. Looking for cheap materials too. Found a place in Golcar that does cheap bricks, but not sure if they are suitable for ovens
