Hi all, I've decided to build a Pizza Oven for this summers project. I'm okay at DIY and was going to jump in and build this one from YouTube youtu.be/9nIBXI9Co9U with a few slight modifications. That was until I found the forums - it seems there are a whole community of oven builders lol!! Any thoughts on the oven above? I love the idea of cutting every brick at an angle to form the dome like a member on here has done. I think I'm going to do some more research first - I started digging out my base yesterday! Thanks Chris

G'day You picked a real gone looking oven on that clip. And well built too. It's properly insulated. I'm taken with the stand, I like the H shaped stand. There strong and have two easily accessible bays. Heaps better than a single entrance and a long crawl to the back. Trust me I've barked my back more than once. If you want to cut the brick to conform with the curves, fair enough, it's a challenge but do able. Either way you'll be producing a dome one off the strongest structures on the planet. Enjoy the journey Hope to see heaps of pics Regards dave

Thanks Dave, As my oven will be near my garden fence I'd have to do away with the 'H' :-( looks like I'll be joining the bruised back club :-) You comments has given me more confidence in that design and I like the rendered finish rather that the brick finish (just my personal pref) I'm going to crack on with finishing my base. I've seen some stuff on here about Jewsons discounts, does this still apply? I have a branch not too far away. Many thanks Chris

G'day chris Yes you can still do the H shaped dome just do the entrance either side not front to rear. Works. But I bet you like the look of the arch entrance in the front? Friend of mine has entrance from side to side and a lovely arch in the front. A false arch with real 50 mm thick stacked firewood builders glued in. Looks very good but had me confused the first time. By the way my ovens a rendered dome but has a layer of split brick over the top. Looks like a fully brick dome but it's not. Follow the link at the bottom of my post to my build and you'll see, what I built to start with its not how it looks now I bet Jamie Oliver's oven isn't full thickness brick either. regards Dave
