... the first shoots of asparagus this season have arrived.
Now it's just the difficult decision on which way to to enjoy...
Aspargus is well worth the two years wait before you can crop as they just keep on going.
By May we are grossed out on the stuff but within a few weeks get cravings.

Mmmmm.....also love the stuff, simply boiled, served with a generous knob of butter. Lived in lower Saxony (Germany) for many years, which is the heart of Asparagus producers over there (the thick white stuff).....for some reason they only eat Asparagus until the 26th of June.....regardless of the yearly climate?

It's the same here but earlier cut-off point. You have to give the plant time to recover after you have stolen it's shoots.
