I'm here because I'm aiming to build a mobile pizza oven vehicle by the end of this year. Possibly on the back of a pickup truck. I'm here to pick brains, learn things and add my views. Looking forward to it.

I'm here because I'm aiming to build a mobile pizza oven vehicle by the end of this year. Possibly on the back of a pickup truck. I'm here to pick brains, learn things and add my views. Looking forward to it. Hello Ivan There are many commercial companies that sell pizza ovens on a trailer. I think "Dragon ovens" have some lovely models and I know that Jay Emery of "Dingley Dell" sell perhaps the best Uk mobile wood-fired ovens on the market (I know this because I bought one)....but a lot of the traders who built their own mobile wood-fired ovens in the back of....land rovers, transit vans, Piaggio ape's, Citroen vans, etc., have used a lightweight modular (pre-formed) oven for their operations. In all honesty the Dingley dell, Jamie oliver, and Stonebake ovenco ovens would suit this purpose because of their quick fire-up times and actual weight. I shall be building a mobile oven in late August/September but I shall be converting an old governess cart into something of an ancient hand drawn bread oven (pizza oven)..and use it at re-enactment foires. I shall be using the continental Ziegel stein (german)/or Poroton (French)honeycombed clay bricks for the dome and build it from scratch. Keep in touch and post as many pics as you can. i shall also create a new thread as soon as I start my project.....I'll show you mine if you show me yours!!! All the best with your project Terry

Thanks Terry, that's wonderful. Is there a forum here for mobile builds? If not, I'll ask the mods to create one! I'll certainly post my progress. Now I'm looking at classic London cabs. Also, while in Las Vegas recently I saw a fire engine converted into a food wagon with an oven in the water tank - such a great idea, maybe for my second project!
