He goes with a thread about my WFO build up here in sunny Edinburgh. After years of day dreaming I finally got round to treating myself (and Mrs TMS) to a WFO. After much research I plumped for a modular oven which I sourced from Ukoutdoorliving. Here's a link to the site & said oven www.ukoutdoorliving.co.uk/#!deluxe-kit/c18b4 I paid £625 plus £55 delivery. Communication from the vendor has been superb & the oven arrived well package and all in one piece. Really chuffed with the kit which looks really well made and slots together super easily. I was a little disappointed with the supplied flue so I have bought another which I think will look better in the final build. Have a look at the photos and tell me which one you prefer! There's still time for me to change my mind...........Here are some photos of the component parts plus one of the oven put together in a dry run. I'll take some shots of the build as it progresses starting with the base which was started recently. Oven with supplied black chimney (which does match the oven door) Inside of oven and how the four main cast concrete sections slot together The two flues I have to decide on? I think I prefer this one and it does have a rain cowl and an internal damper. The start of the base unit. Paving underneath has a cast concrete base so will easily handle the weight.

Hi rivergirl
No plans for a roof at this stage. The kit comes with some 25mm thick insulating blanket and some chicken wire. The plan is to render over this with a layer of heat resistant cement and then a waterproof concrete layer. Finally over that I'll finished with some waterproof exterior paint. Hopefully that will be enough to insulate and weatherproof. I might add a waterproof cover over the winter months (similar to the one I use on our gas BBQ).
What do you think of the flue options?

Definitely go with the stainless flue, it has a cowl to keep rainwater out of your oven. As to a winter cover, is the flue demountable ? If not you may struggle finding a cover that fits; if it is then a 6' round table cover from eBay works well and cost about a tenner. An insulation blanket with a wire cage and waterproof layer is what I used, I actually used waterproof tile adhesive as I intended to mosaic over it, worked ok for me.
